Urban Pioneer Square Senior Portraits

Recent Editorial Senior Portrait Photos taken in downtown Seattle at and around Pioneer Square. Looking for an elevated look and editorial feel to our session we utilized the urban grit of Pioneer Square and all the cool brick and old buildings and paired that with upscale fashion forward outfits and cool overcoats.

Who says that boys senior photos need to be boring and can’t be cool and modern? When choosing what style your senior portraits should be there are a few things to consider:

  • Location, location, location! So many cool spots in and around the Seattle downtown and surrounding cities like Bellevue, Kirkland and Redmond

  • Style: Dark and moody or light and bright, utilize the light you have and you will have diverse look and feel to your images

  • Editorial Feel: Do you want to feel like you belong in a fashion magazine and look like a model? You can do this without being too posed by the styling of your clothes and the angle of the images. Shooting up is a cool way to add some edge to your images and make your subjects look right out of a magazine page.

  • Lighting: Don’t be afraid to have shadows in your images and use full sun hard light, this can be a cool way to capture your senior

  • Fun! This is a key component of any photo session, it should be fun and your senior will love their images

  • Authenticity: Taking authentic portraits that look and feel like your senior but an elevated version will go a long way with your seniors family.
