The Power of Mixing Genres at your Portrait Photoshoot

Why do multiple types of sessions at the same time? Combining different photography genres lets you showcase various shades of your life and personality in ONE session. So many of us need portraits for different aspects of our life, from new headshots to family portraits, so why not combine a session and do both! Whether celebrating your love, showcasing your professional brand, or capturing your beauty and confidence, mixing genres ensures your photos reflect all dimensions of you at the same time, saving time and money!

How It Works: Here's how you can mix genres or different types of sessions during your photoshoot:

  • Worthy Portrait and headshots: Start with headshots and then move to your own Worthy Series portraits. I find that most of my clients NEED and want a new updated headshot. When you combined having headshots and your personal portrait session, you get the benefit of being able to write off your ENTIRE session as a business tax write off, BONUS!

  • Personal Branding & Portraits: Capture professional branding for your business, then switch gears to capture beautiful portraits of your choice. I ask my clients at booking, “is there anyone you may want to add to your portrait session?” You have your hair and makeup all done, we’ve got amazing personal branding images for your business, why not add your family, kids or partner at the end? Showing both your professional and personal sides of yourself in the same day.

When you mix different genres during your portrait session we can do multiple types of portraits no matter what you initially reached out to do. I feel that we all have so many different aspects of our personalities and life, why not save some time and make a day of it all while getting the added benefit of a tax write off is you add headshots or branding images.

Mixing genres in photography can be a powerful way to create unique, impactful images that serve both professional and personal purposes. So when you decide to move forward and book a portrait session with us, consider adding genres or people that you love to your session, getting more bang for your buck and enjoy the experience with people that you love.
